Level 1 Certificate in Coaching Tennis
WHAT DOES THE COURSE COVER?
On successful completion of the Level 1 candidates should be able to:
- Motivate and inspire people to play tennis.
- Use effective verbal and non verbal communication skills.
- Organise tennis activity constructively
- Plan and deliver a structured lesson
- Have basic knowledge of tactics, techniques and rules of tennis.
- Have a full understanding of the structure of Mini Tennis.
DURATION
The course is three days - 2 consecutive days followed by a 3-6 week break for practical experience and a final 1 day assessment. In addition candidates must attend a 3 hour Child Protection workshop. During the three to six week break, candidates will need to complete their portfolio of evidence and complete a minimum of three hours coaching assistant experience with a licensed coach mentor.
Candidates are required to have their coaching assistant experience organised before the course starts.
ASSESSMENT
The course is assessed in three areas:
- On court practical coaching assessment using course materials
- Portfolio of evidence
- Written paper
HOW MUCH WILL IT COST?
The course fee is £92.50 payable on application (inclusive of all resources)*
*This fee is 50% of the usual course fee of £185.00 per person
