What You Need to Make a Runner
Wednesday, Apr 18, 2012 in Sports Foundation
Determination, focus and plenty of training are all important for running. But as one of our members has found out, food, supplements, clothing and even a good hair cut can help too.
Tony Blair Sports Foundation member Graham Smith is undertaking a challenge to run 2012 miles in 2012, with the aim to raise £2012 for the Foundation. As well as valuable sponsorship money, Graham has been lucky enough to get a whole range of support from organisations across the region to help him in his quest to reach his 2012 mile target.
From 37 kilograms of protein supplements donated by GSP (UK) Ltd, to marketing support from Marketing Wand and even a hair cut from Gary Hedley Salons to make sure he looks at his best when he takes to the streets Graham has received a great deal of support from generous donors. He was even lucky enough to receive a new pair of trainers and a watch from an anonymous donor.
On a recent visit to the Tony Blair Sports Foundation office, Graham talked about how grateful he was to his sponsors:
“I’m so thankful to everyone who has supported me on my journey so far. My aim is to run 5.5 miles every day and doing that means that I build up quite an appetite and always need running kit. So the generous donations of supplements and running gear are great. They really help me. It’s even more fantastic to receive donations towards my target of £2012, as these will help the Tony Blair Sports Foundation to train more sports coaches who can get more children in the North East playing sport and staying active. I’d like to say a huge thank you to all of my sponsors so far!”
The Tony Blair Sports Foundation would like to thank the following organisations for supporting Graham in his challenge so far:
