Team 100 runner jogs along with Jarrow Jim

Eve Warlow, who was one of the hundred runners running for the Tony Blair Sports Foundation, ran alongside Jarrow Jim, who was running nearby for some of their run.

Eve said:

"Watching this gentleman was an inspiration. If anyone thinks they should hang up their training shoes because they're getting on a bit, they only needed to witness Jim's spirit and notice his relentless, smiling dedication to being the best he can. Jim was never self obsessed, waving to all the "c'mon Jarrow Jim" calls on the way. He took the time to stop and chat or to have his picture taken over and over when the children en route surrounded him.

"He put many of us to shame. But at only 87 I reckon he's got quite a few more runs in him. I salute him."
