Local Heroes back again to save our summer
Monday, Jul 26, 2010 in Sports Foundation
The Tony Blair Sports Foundation is delighted to be involved for the second year, in a programme of events called Local Heroes co-ordinated by the Hat Trick Project in Newcastle.
The event involves over 15 sports and activities and more than 10 different organisations all pulling together. For the first five weeks of the summer we deliver ‘roadshows’ which are basically fun, multi-sports sessions on the doorstep of key neighbourhoods in the West End of Newcastle. In the final week we run a 3-day festival at the Centre for Sport. The theme each year is creating new heroes through sport and the best way you can do that is by getting involved yourself as a volunteer and inspiring hundreds of local young people to take part in sport.
To find out how you can get involved, contact Mark Oliver, Hat Trick Project Manager at mark.oliver@hattrickproject.org or contact us on 0191 2760640 for more information.
