Trustee Tanni becomes a Baroness

The Tony Blair Sports Foundation would like to congratulate Dame Tanni Grey-Thompson on her appointment as a ‘People’s Peer’ after a recommendation by the House of Lords Appointments Commission. Tanni who is a Trustee of the Foundation is one of Britain's best known athletes and has received numerous accolades and awards in recognition of her Paralympics and sporting achievements.

Commenting on the news, Tony Blair said:

“I am absolutely delighted – Tanni’s achievements, experience and commitment to improving the quality of life for people mean that she will make a real, positive and lasting impact in the House of Lords. This is welcome recognition of Tanni’s long-standing contribution to the values of public service and Parliament will be all the better for having her in it.”
